Be ready in the lobby of your Bangkok hotel for an early 7 a.m. pickup. Be sure to bring your camera and wear pants or knee-length skirts in order to enter the temples. Travel with your guide and group via car or minivan to Ayutthaya, the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Siam.
See the Big Pagoda at Wat Yah Chai Mongkol, the royal monastery of Wat Maha That, and the biggest reclining Buddha in Ayutthaya (Wat Lokayasutha). Along the way, your guide will provide narration on the history of this ancient place.
Stop for lunch at a restaurant on the riverbanks, then step aboard a boat for a cruise to see Temple Ankor wat stye (Wat Chai wattanaram) and the Palace of the Queen. Step off the boat at Wat Na Phra Mane, then watch the sunset at Wat Chai Wattanaram before returning to your Bangkok hotel around 6:30 p.m. for drop-off.
