Your tour starts with hotel pickup in Bangkok in the early morning for the drive north toward Ayutthaya, the capital of the Kingdom of Siam before it was razed by the Burmese.
Stop first at Bang Pa-In Palace (aka the Summer Palace) to see its combination of Thai, Chinese, and Gothic architecture. Then continue to Ayutthaya to see landmarks including Wat Mahathat, a royal monastery known for the faces of Buddha wrapped in the roots of trees; Wat Na Phra Mane; and Wat Lokayasutharam, a temple where you can see a large reclining Buddha statue.
At midday, hop on a river cruise, where a buffet lunch is provided. As you float along the waterway, admire views along the banks and pass by the Grand Palace and Wat Arun (Dawn Temple). Continuing on the Chao Phraya River, you'll arrive back in Bangkok in the late afternoon to early evening.
