Your tour starts with pickup in New Orleans’ French Quarter. Relax on the bus ride out to the bayous, leaving the navigation and driving to someone else.
Once you reach the area, board a covered boat with your guide, and take to the swampy waters. Listen as your guide informs you about the area’s history and ecology, and get the opportunity to spot alligators and other wildlife native to the bayous. Some wildlife are more easily spotted during the warmer months of the year.
Learn about the local culture, such as the origin of gumbo, and how the area’s residents work hard to guarantee the survival of the wetlands. Snap pictures of the swamps to take home, and gain a better understanding of this beautiful, often-misunderstood area.
Your tour ends with a drive back to the French Quarter.
