As you will snowshoe into the silent snowy forests, your outdoor guide will explain to you the basics of how to survive in such difficult conditions.
You will first orientate yourself with a map and a compass to find your own way and reach the shores of an immense frozen lake. On the way, your guide will share with you some of its knowledge about the surrounding nature: how to use some trees or mushrooms to make a fire, for medicinal purposes, etc.
It will soon be time to set your little camp! Let’s make your own fire to warm you up. And because one cannot survive without food, you will also drill your own hole in the frozen lake and try ice-fishing! If you catch a fish, your guide will show you how to grill it over the fire.
Don’t worry if you are unlucky: a delicious Finnish barbecue snack will be prepared by your guide. This will also offer you a convivial moment around the fire and a great opportunity for your guide to answer your questions about Lapland!
