Description
We'll collect you from Bordeaux Tourism Office, at 8:50am or 1:50pm. Be punctual as winery visits are exclusive to our group. An English-speaking local driver/guide, Bordeaux wine expert, will await you with the tour name and Ophorus logo sign.
Once onboard our comfortable air-conditioned Mercedes minivan, you will be treated to an informative and entertaining commentary about the region's wines as you make your way to the Saint Emilion wine producing area. Our minivan is equipped with an on-board P/A system so everyone can hear the guide's commentary, no matter where they are seated.
In Saint Emilion, you will have the opportunity to visit and taste wines at a selected Grand Cru winery. Learn about the wine production process, tour the technical installations and ageing cellars, and indulge in a tasting session of these exceptional Bordeaux wines.
After the wine tasting, we will take a walking tour of the village of Saint Emilion. Stroll through the medieval streets and soak in the rich history of this UNESCO World Heritage site. Your guide will share fascinating stories about the village, from the days of the 8th century hermit Emilion to the 19th century mining galleries that lie beneath the village. Enter one of the many wine cellars to continue your tasting session or simply immerse yourself in the charming atmosphere of Saint Emilion.
The tour concludes with a return to Bordeaux, arriving at either 1:00pm or 6:00pm, depending on the tour time you choose.

We accept payment by AMEX, Visa and Master Card. There is no charge or service fee for processing credit card payments except with American Express +3%. For any cancellation, the following fees will be deducted from the refund: > Up to 24 hours prior to departure: no cancellation fees except the booking fees. > 24 hours prior to departure and less > no refund All semi private tours depart on time. Clients should present themselves at the allocated meeting point at least 10 minutes before the beginning of the tour. Driver/guide will not wait unless Ophorus has been previously informed that the client will be late with a maximum waiting time of 10 minutes. Beyond that waiting time, tours will depart and Ophorus cannot be held responsible for clients missing their tour.

Additional Information
In regards to the protection of the environment, we will no longer provide plastic bottles of water during our tours. You are kindly advised to bring your own. Water and refills are available at the wineries, museums and attractions visited.
Please note: In France, snacks are usually not provided during wine tastings to preserve the purity of the wine's flavor. We recommend having a good breakfast or lunch beforehand.
FAQ
How many wines will I taste during this tour?
Unlike other wine tasting sessions that you might have followed around the world, the tastings in Bordeaux are not as generous in terms of pours . The amount of wine tasted is not what many would expect but here it is all about elegance, fruit, quality, aromas and flavors rather than quantity. Each Chateau will have you taste their premium wine and what we call the 'second' wine of the estate. Sometimes, Chateau owners also add a tasting of some other wine if they happen to be the owners of another property in Bordeaux. So basically, at each winery visited it will be 2 to maximum 4 wines tasted. To further enhance your wine experience, it is always possible to buy some bottles at the wineries visited.
