Garrett and the rest of the staff took such great care of everyone. The tour overall was on time, on schedule throughout, had clear instructions, kept us hydrated with complimentary water, air conditioned, and we were updated every step of the way (e.g. all the stops, restroom breaks, meetup points, etc). He even announced down to the detail of if there was a long restroom break at a site where the next option would be, which let me tell you is a lifesaver so that you can plan your hydration pace and exercise bladder control. They anticipated everything. We always knew what was going on. He tailored his presentation with thoughtful announcements that minimized surprises that might upset anyone, so that everyone could be comfortable, safe and have a fun and memorable experience. It has to be said that this is challenging to do in a big, diverse and unpredictable city. If you are from out of town, I urge you to not take this for granted. Garrett was also entertaining, sharp, informative and passionate about sharing his city with us. Even as someone who has lived here for a dozen years, I learned some cool new things and he refreshed my perspective on NYC. I took a chance on this tour, 4 hours, where my friend was visiting for one day and I wanted us to have a good time and an adventure together. It was totally worth it. I’d recommend this tour to anyone and hopefully Garrett will be your host. I’d probably take this tour again myself just for fun. As far as the physical bus conditions, please be realistic. The definition of “luxury” in NYC for a packed and shared bus tour means relatively better amenities than a hop-on hop-off tour/anything at a lower price point where you will take your chances with. The seats are a little worn. It’s not spacious but it is comfortable and functional in terms of padding, seatbelt, shade, ergonomics, outlets to charge your phone and an overhead bin to store small items. You’ll get a responsive CS line via text, email and phone, a well-executed route to get your money’s worth, thoughtful and prepared staff, a clean space, and air conditioning. If you are expecting the Ritz-Carlton, try a private tour or get a limo service ;)
Taste of NY
This was a 4 hour bus tour that gave my family a great first-time "taste of NY". Tim was an outstanding guide. He was knowledgeable about the city sites we passed by and guided us through our stops with history, story telling and a fantastic humor. Equally important was the sound system on the bus was top quality so it was easy to listen and interact.
