Summary

Choose a morning or afternoon departure for your visit to the Rhino and Lion Reserve. Arrive at the park after a transfer from either Johannesburg or Pretoria. Climb into a 4x4 safari vehicle for your guided tour of the reserve. Enjoy excellent viewing opportunities of some of South Africa's most impressive wildlife on the reserve, including lions, cheetahs, rhinos, African wild dogs, zebras, and warthogs, along with many other smaller mammals. The animals are kept in different enclosures to ensure visitor safety and the safety of the smaller animals. Stop for a lunch break (included) at the reserve restaurant in between safari drives. Enjoy views of Johannesburg in the distance. This is a wonderful chance to see some of the country's wildlife for visitors who are short on time.

Why take this tour?

The Rhino and Lion Reserve is an excellent venue to spend an afternoon or morning viewing some of Africa’s most beautiful animals in an attractive and open environment close to Jo’burg and Pretoria. Reachable in about an hour’s drive from Johannesburg or Pretoria it’s particularly suited if you do not have the time to visit one of the larger reserves further away. Important: Do not confuse with the Lion Park which is much smaller and does not have the same number of animals. Here also the Lions/Cheetahs and African Wild Dogs although not roaming free with the other animals are in much bigger and more humane spaces. This greatly reduces their aggressive behavior towards the vehicles viewing them.
