Begin the morning with pickup in Reykjavik. Greet your guide and sit back for the drive north to the Snaefellsnes peninsula—it's a scenic one.
While ogling the landscape, listen as your guide offers insight into the flora and fauna of Iceland, as well as the cultural heritage of the region—Jules Verne, for example, introduced the world to Snaefellsjökull glacier when he featured it in his novel, 'Journey to the Center of the Earth.'
Learn about the ecosystem of Snaefellsjökull glacier as you see it for yourself and then continue to majestic Kirkjufell, Iceland's most photographed mountain. After a lunch break in the old fishing village of Hellnar (own expense), visit another small fishing village named Arnarstapi and take a stroll over the black sand of Djúpalónssandur beach, surrounded by towering cliffs and volcanic craters.
The tour ends with drop-off back in Reykjavik.
