Receive an early-morning pickup from your Cusco hotel, traveling for 2.5-hours to reach the trek’s starting point in Quesiuno Town at a height of 14,189 feet (4,326 meters).
Cross over the Inkintuyoc Bridge and trace the path along the edge of a scenic stream, passing by herds of llamas and alpacas as you go. You’ll have views of the 20,945-foot (6,385-meter) Ausangate Mountain in the distance. Keep walking as you enjoy the Andean scenery, including views of potato fields, plus local animal life like vicuñas and chinchillas.
After approximately three hours of walking, you’ll reach the Rainbow Mountain, situated at an elevation of 16,466 feet (5,020 meters). Take some time at the summit to rest, explore, and to snap a few photos of the peak’s Instagram-worthy arrangement of multi-colored rocks. You’ll return back down the way you came, continuing for 2.5 hours to the return vehicle.
You’ll then be transferred for another 2.5 hours back to you Cusco-area hotel.
