The sunset adventure begins with a self-drive safari as we guide and instruct participants over hand-held radios and spot indigenous wildlife, including gazelle, oryx, monitor lizards and countless birds, and discover fox dens and natural phenomena. Adults and kids alike will learn all about the desert, its history and its inhabitants during this informative safari. 15:00 - 16:00: Pick-up from the hotel (time will be confirmed directly with participants). (Pick-up and drop off services are offered to visitors only; UAE residents will be welcomed directly at the DDCR Margham Gate) 16:30: Arrival in DDCR 16:45 - 17:10: Briefing and instruction on reserve/off-road driving 17:10 - 18:00: Off-road drive to camp 18:00 - 19:00: Snacks will be served 19:00: Departure from camp* *For participants choosing the optional dinner package, the meal will be served at 19:00 with departure from camp at 20:00. For the first time in the 20-year history of the gated 225-square-kilometre Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve (DDCR), visitors can enjoy a self-drive safari in our specially prepared Toyota Hilux Adventure Overlanding vehicles through the unique area under the expert guidance of Sand Sherpa. Upon arrival at Sherpa Camp, participants can explore the sands and enjoy a nature walk around the site. We have fully equipped bathroom facilities on-site and offer snacks and refreshments along the way.
