Lovely Gruyère
The cheese factory wasn’t as fun as the chocolate factory but loved the samples and the town of Gruyère. Normunds was very helpful and Knowledgeable. Thank you for offering pickup from my hotel. Even though it was delayed an hour, I still appreciated not having to navigate transportation.
Swiss Tours trips are a great value!
There is a bit of a long ride to get to Gruyeres, but it's absolutely worth the time. Our guide, Babas (sorry, I have probably misspelled his name), was an amazing source of knowledge about Geneva and the surrounding areas. The tour bus was quite comfortable and our guide was a safe and careful driver. Both the chocolate and cheese factories were interesting. Pace yourself at Cailler chocolates - they give you so many samples. I loved the medieval town of Gruyeres. I can't comment on the castle at Gruyeres - i spent most of my time in the HR Giger Museum. In fact, Babas was kind enough to take me into Gruyeres early while the others in the group were having lunch at the cheese factory, so I would have enough time to see the museum. It was a long day with the drive back and forth, but it was totally worth it. I would encourage anyone considering one of the Swiss Tours trips to go. They give you great value for your money. Others I spoke to who had done other Swiss Tours trips had enjoyed their trips as well. If I am lucky enough to visit Geneva again, I will try more of their tours.
Lovely trip but not value for money
The bus trip out to Gruyeres was in fact a lovely trip with a charming guide and driver however it is quite pricey for the experience which includes two visits to two small perhaps private museums
Amazing tour
What an amazing day. The driver/guide was so much fun, the stops were amazing, so much cheese and chocolate! I loved the entire experience.
Long Drive for Short Tours — Wish We Had More Time in Gruyères
The chocolate and cheese factory tours were fine—both were relatively short and felt more like opportunities to shop in their gift stores than full experiences. I would have preferred to spend more time exploring the town of Gruyères itself or to get out or the van in Montreax. Overall, it’s a long day of driving for just the factory visits.
