Your professional hiking guide will pick you up from your hotel,It takes 1.5 hours to drive the Great wall.You will walk about 40 minutes on uphill to the top.This is an unrestored section of the wall and requires good hiking footwear. Some sections can be steep, uneven and physically demanding. It is a great trail for those looking to explore off the beaten path of the Great Wall and capture very rewarding views. You start with a 45 minute hike up to the wall. From there you say goodbye to what is pretty much the only level section and begin a steady elevation gain. You hike up and down along the spine of the mountain ridge taking 4-6 hours depending on your speed and level of fitness. There are a couple sections that are very steep requiring some scrambling over rocks and climbing. No rope or specialized gear is required however. Some would say this is the most exciting part of the trail. There is a ladder or two to help you reach some of the towers along the way. The best part of the day however is the final ascension to the Beijing Knot itself. The view is well worth the journey.
