- HEALTH AND SAFETY: Be aware that the tour involves walking and descending a significant number of stairs (around 800 steps there is no lift that will took you below!). The tour is not recommended for people with claustrophobia or severe respiratory or heart conditions.
- DRESS CODE: Wear comfortable walking shoes as the tour involves a lot of walking. Dress in layers; the temperature inside the mine is around 14-16°C (57-61°F) year-round.
- PHOTOGRAPHY: Check the policy on photography; usually, non-flash photography is allowed, but a fee might be required for camera use.
- ENTRANCE TICKETS: The entrance ticket (143 PLN) is purchased on arrival by card or cash. No advance reservation needed; your tour leader will assist you with the entire process on the day.

Krakow salt mines
We had afternoon excursion to the salt mine just outside krakow . This is one of the best experiences I have had the pleasure in seeing. You need to be prepared to walk up and down lots of steps and slopes and tunnels, very well maintained and the guides very informative. It’s about 2 hours start tho finish, You are under ground at over 200 plus metres but it contains chambers full of history. As well as the same again in depth unavailable to the public very safe and sound below. The finish is a lift to the surface holds about 8 people, worth every penny. Very clean and tidy

A well organised tour, great communication with the tour guide throughout our tour and before. We didn’t have to worry about being away from the rest of the tour. I would definitely recommend booking this way as we didn’t have to worry about how to get to the Salt Mines making our day very relaxed.
Do go, don’t miss
Fascinating trip and the guides were great to explain everything Would be a great place to have a birthday party to have a ‘different experience’. Recommend. Small children may find it too long and you can’t ’leave half way’.
We booked the tour...
We booked the tour because it was advertised as including a pickup from the hotel. That’s what it said on the tickets, too, but the meeting point was different. When we didn’t know where the meeting point actually was, we couldn’t reach anyone—communication was nonexistent. For a bus ride from the train station to the mines, that’s pretty overpriced!!
My review of the Discover Cracow journey.
It was very interesting. Lukasz was very nice and friendly. The Bus ride was also very fast and safe. I liked the times and the planning but the meeting point at the end was very far from the exit of the mine and it was very stressful. Overall its good and very affordable. There were a lot of people and our group was very nice. Its probably best for 2-5 people, since you probably don't want to go alone or don't want a big group and taking the responsibility of counting everyone. I find it was a little short and would find it nice to have a little more explaining of the city and the salt mine. I guess now with this guide we can actually "discover Cracow" :)
