Description
Alaska is a place to get away from it all & enjoy the serenity of the wilderness. This 3 hour excursion is a kayak & boating adventure that spends all 3 hours on the water. It’s the perfect experience for an adventure while giving you time to see Ketchikan during shorter port calls. No van/bus transport needed.
Hop on our boat at the downtown cruise docks and head out on the Inside Passage with excellent chances to spot marine wildlife throughout the entire excursion. We often do see whales, sea lions, seals, bald eagles, sometimes even black bear and deer along the coast. The immense array of inter tidal creatures are certainly a Southeast Alaskan favorite!
The true highlight of the Orca Cove tour is exploring the secluded coves & rainforest islands by sea kayak with friendly, knowledgeable guides, although the Wild Caught Alaskan Smoked Salmon, hot drinks or cold beverages onboard the mothership after paddling are ranked a close second by many of our guests.

Start Location: 425 Water Street, Ketchikan, Alaska, USA
Start Location Notes: We meet all guests at the Visitor Information/Restrooms building on the pier next to Sockeye Sam's store at cruise berth 3. 425 Water Street, Ketchikan, AK 99901. (NOTE: this is NOT the berth 2 Visitors Center). Our guide will be present 10 minutes before each tour holding a BLUE sign that says "ORCA COVE.” DOWNTOWN CRUISE SHIP PASSENGERS & OTHER GUESTS: After disembarking your cruise ship, the walk is approximately 2-5 minutes from the 4 downtown cruise docks, depending on which pier you are docked. WARD COVE CRUISE PASSENGERS (Norwegian Cruise Line & some other guests): This tour does not pickup at Ward Cove. You will take one of the shuttle buses provided from Ward Cove to downtown at Cruise berth 4 (normally a 15 minute ride). From there it is about a 5 minute walk to meet us at berth 3 (see above instructions) Please call/text us at 1-907-225-1258 if you have questions about timing. *Remember to turn off airplane mode on your phone when your ship docks

Important Information
Know Before You Book
- This trip is limited to six guests
- Sizing: Anyone with a seated waistline, hips or thighs measuring 54″+ would not be a good fit for the kayak cockpits
- We recommend that you wear clothing that would be appropriate for an outdoor hike through the forest with the weather on your given day. The best advice for gearing up for any excursion along your cruise is to bring layers. Quick dry clothing is always better than blue jeans!

Cancellation Notes: Cancellations made prior to 7 days of tour date receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 7 days of tour are not eligible for a refund unless we are able to resell the seats. If you miss your tour due to ship schedule changes (e.g. if your ship is late or skips this port) or we cancel due to weather, you will immediately receive a full refund. This is our official policy, but we know things happen in life, so please contact us with any changes and we’ll do our best to work it out. Not wheelchair accessible. We have however had guests who were severely limited in their mobility. The small group size & our amazing staff have allowed us on occasion for the spirited guest to go above & beyond in making this available.
