Travel independently to Chawri Bazar to meet your guide and small group of no more than 12. Then, set off into the bustling streets for your 2-hour tour.
Founded in 1840, the bazaar is one of Delhi’s oldest market streets and filled with food outlets. Experience the scents and sounds as you mingle with shoppers, cycle rickshaws, and bicycles, seeking out authentic street food.
Learn about local snacks from your guide, and stop at six to eight different food joints. Each has been in business for generations and is known for its delicious and safe food.
Samples vary on each tour, but expect to try staples such as kachori pastries, chaat (potato-based fried bites), and aaloo tikki, along with sweet treats like kulfi and kheer. Bottled waters, wipes, and sanitizers are available for your use.
You'll get to taste between 11 and 13 dishes in total. As you walk and eat, listen as your guide explains the recipes and watch as the vendors cook up the snacks at their food carts. Be sure to come hungry — the tastings will amount to a full meal plus a few snacks.
After about two hours, your tour ends in Chandni Chowk, where your guide departs.
