About operator:
Ficus Trails protects an important part of the Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Corridor known as "Puente de Vida," (Bridge of Life), an exuberant key piece of forest located in the heart of the Monteverde community founded in April 19th, 1951 by Quakers from Fairhope, Alabama. The moisture deposited high on the Pacific slope near the Continental Divide in the form of mist and the topography of the area influence Ficus Trails in such a way that a remarkable diversity of flora and fauna can be found in this cloud forest. Climb our hollow trees and enjoy their amazing natural history. Ficus Trails offers each adventurous visitor an overwhelming wilderness experience with no age limit. Ficus Trails is home to over 400 species of birds, dozens of reptiles & amphibians and over 130 mammal species, not to mention the large diversity of trees, plants and fungi. An observation deck allows the visitor to enjoy the majesty of the cloud forest from a total different angle like nowhere else. Watch the Continental Divide covered with clouds and the impressive San Luis waterfall that will become the large Guacimal River as you follow its path down to a breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean. Take this journey with our professional naturalist guides and you'll come face to face with one of the greatest forces you've ever encountered, Nature. Discover fascinating facts about the cloud forest and surprising insights about its wildlife on day and at night time. Live great moments and photograph unique sights. Two worlds apart separated by light that will trigger all your senses.
