This tour offers a professional guided walk early in the morning when normally most birds are waking up and enjoying breakfast. Even though there is no control of the weather nor the birds, your guide will do the very best to spot and ID as many birds and wild life as possible. This tour is conducted in small groups is provide the best service possible. This tour is for birders of all ages and experience levels, so whether you are a bird watching expert, an amateur or none, you are welcome to join a walk in the Cloud Forest in the heart of the Monteverde community.

Ficus Trails protects an important part of the Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Corridor known as "Puente de Vida," (Bridge of Life), an exuberant key piece of forest located in the heart of the Monteverde community founded in April 19th, 1951 by Quakers from Fairhope, Alabama. The moisture deposited high on the Pacific slope near the Continental Divide in the form of mist and the topography of the area influence Ficus Trails in such a way that a remarkable diversity of flora and fauna can be found in this cloud forest. Ficus Trails is home to over 400 species of birds, dozens of reptiles & amphibians and over 130 mammal species, not to mention the large diversity of trees, plants and fungi.
