Multi-day Learn to Packraft

Summary Description

Packrafting allows you to access remote locations by foot and travel by boat when you get there. While hiking your kayak several days into the Wilderness is certainly doable, we prefer a boat that fits in a backpack. Similarly, launching into a multi-day Wilderness backpacking trip with a packraft for the first time planning to boat unknown waters is certainly doable. But, we’d like to give you a leg-up. Learning to packraft with Wyoming Rivers Co-op gives you a chance to familiarize yourself with a packraft, how it maneuvers, the possibilities and limitations before you put yourself in an unsupported position. You will dial your packing (and unpacking systems), learn to camp in style and focus on water travel and camping for 3 days and 2 nights. We will discuss Leave No Trace ethics, land management, water rights, proper waste management and strategies and techniques for meeting those requirements and more. This section of the Green River is gorgeous during the day and night and offers long mellow stretches of river with more predictable camping allowing you to better prepare for the unpredictable future. Trip duration is 3 days/2 nights, covering approximately 26 river miles.
