Your day starts with pickup at your Seoul hotel in the morning, followed by a scenic drive to Bukhansan National Park.
Learn from your guide about the region's granite mountains, gorges, and many Buddhist temples along the way, then experience the natural beauty firsthand during your hike on Bukhansan, or Mt. Bukhan.
Your experienced guide chooses a route that is suitable for your group’s ability and preferences. Expect some challenging uphill sections with plenty of time for rest stops and photo ops. The to Seunggasa Temple climbs approximately 1,300 feet (400 meters) in elevation. This popular trail is relatively easy for beginners. If you’d like more of a challenge, the Bibong path follows a narrow trail with a mountain stream flowing on either side, climbing approximately 1,835 feet (560 meters).
Celebrate the completion of your hike with a delicious Korean lunch, then drive to the jjimjilbang (Korean spa) to relax and rejuvenate. Soak in a hot bath, then head over to the sauna for a treatment. Start the seshin, the name for this Korean cleansing, with a rub-down by a ddemiri or ‘scrub mistress,' who sloughs away layers of dead skin from your entire body using a thin, coarse towel. The exfoliation is followed by an oil massage, cucumber face mask, and shampoo administered by your expert practitioner.
Nudity is the norm at this communal indoor bathhouse, separated by gender, and your guide waits outside after describing what to expect.
At the end of your spa treatment, settle back into your vehicle and make a brief stop at an amethyst factory or a ginseng center — two of Korea’s most famous goods — before drop-off at your hotel.
