Mount Etna nature and flavors half day Tour from Taormina

Meet your guide at your hotel in Taormina or Giardini Naxos or central meeting point. Begin the journey to Rifugio Sapienza, the base station at the foot of Mount Etna. En route, your guide tells you about the history and geology of the volcano.

Reach Sapienza and trek up the volcano’s slopes along a trail, rising to an altitude of 6,562 feet (2,000 meters). Speak to your guide about trekking higher up the mountain, if you wish, and opt to continue by cable car or minibus for an extra cost.

Afterward, make your way back to the base of the mountain, don a helmet, and explore a lava cave.

Hop back on the bus for the journey back to Catania. Along the way, stop at an organic farm, and sample local wine, honey, and olive oil.

Finish the tour with a drop-off at your original departure point.
