This 3-hour food tour starts at the middle of the gazebo in the Lazaro Cardenas Park in Old Town/Zona Romantica. If you’re going on this tour April 1st through December 15th, it begins at 7p.m., but if you’re going on it anytime December 16th through March 31st, then it begins at 6p.m.
Your guide knows some of the best places to take you to eat local food, and the first stop he or she takes you to is a well-liked mole restaurant. Here you can taste three different kinds of mole chicken enchiladas, including pablano chocolate.
Next, follow your guide to a pozole restaurant. Try this traditional Mexican soup, along with a taco and a tamale.
Continue on to Malecón, a 12-block esplanade in the town, and pop into a nice restaurant for your last tasting, a surprise dessert. Your tour ends here. Your guide can tell you how to return to your hotel by either walking, hopping on the bus, or snagging a taxi.
