Your tour begins with pickup from your Cusco hotel. Admire the views on the journey to the starting point for your bike tour. After meeting your guide and being paired with a suitable bike, set out on a thrilling mountain biking trek through the Andes.
Cycle around 7km (4.5 miles) along dirt roads and mountain trails, enjoying spectacular views over the valley, then arrive at the circular terraces of Moray. Hop off to explore the fascinating ruins, built by the Incas as an agricultural research station. Hear how the Incas used the terraces to experiment growing crops at different altitudes and take photos of the remarkable site, which resembles a grass-covered amphitheater.
Continue by bike, descending into Maras, an Andean village in the Sacred Valley, where you can refuel with a box lunch (included). In the afternoon, cycle to the Maras Salt Mines, or Salinas, another fascinating Inca site, featuring hand-built terraced ‘pools’ in which saltwater was evaporated in the sun, enabling them to harvest the salt.
The final part of your tour takes you along the Urubamba River to the traditional village of Urubamba, where your driver is waiting for you. Back in Cusco, your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.
