Nino learned to cook from her mother, Lia and is very knowledgeable about the origin and ingredients of Georgian food and its culture and history. Lia is a trained engineer but began cooking in the 90s when jobs were scarce. She cooked food in their home and then sold it at stalls around Saburtalo. She also catered for events and could cook food for 100 people in two days! She enjoys baking and for Easter, she baked more than 120 traditional paska’s (sweet bread), bite-sized khachapuri’s (cheese-filled bread) and lobiani’s (bean-filled bread).
Please note that their home is on the 4th floor and the building has a free elevator, however you need to take the elevator to the 5th floor and walk down one floor to get to the 4th floor.
