Description

Your tour of Pine Ridge Reservation is designed to encourage and promote local artists and entrepreneurs. A major obstacle for local artists is getting their products to market. We hope you find the right work of art. Each piece speaks to us differently! When buying from the artist direct, you help raise the standard of living, promote economic development, and receive a greater understanding of Lakota Culture.

My XO Adventures is licensed and permitted to operate on Pine Ridge Reservation. We take this privilege seriously and will strive to find more ways to benefit artists, businesses, and residents of Pine Ridge.

About operator:

My XO Adventures was created with the curious and adventuresome in mind. Daniel Milks is the owner and has spent most of his travel experience abroad, recently relocating to the Black Hills of South Dakota. We focus on wildlife, history, culture, ecology, and geology.
Your reasons for choosing Southwest South Dakota could vary - but we're willing to bet Mount Rushmore brought you here. While Mount Rushmore is a marvel of engineering, it is only a tiny part of the story.

We feel privileged to be your host and are excited to reveal a greater understanding of not only the monuments and memorials but also the people and places of this land.
It has been a pleasure, joy, and continuous journey to explore and understand the Black Hills, Badlands, Greater South Dakota, and the Indigenous people that inhabit this part of the world. We feel it is essential to acknowledge the Lakota people and our closest neighbors, the Oglala Lakota. Their contribution as caretakers, storytellers, protectors, and beauty cannot be understated.

You'll find out quickly that our tours are conducted by guides passionate about the Black Hills. Our guiding services are fun, casual, informative, light-hearted, and fascinating. We've been honored with the Great Place Award for 2021 & 2022. Thank you, South Dakota Tourism Industry, for recognizing our genuine efforts to think big and make a long-lasting positive mark on our community.
