Kennel Tour and Dog Sled Ride

Summary

If you’re a fan of the Iditarod Trail, this kennel tour and dog-sled ride is for you.   Meet a musher team at the Turning Heads Kennel, a professional kennel with more than 50 huskies. Get to know the teammates and the dogs, and watch a short multimedia presentation about the trail. Hear about the personal experiences on the trail, and then frolic and cuddle with the puppies.   After a short stroll through the property, climb aboard a sled for a 1.5-mile (2-km) ride pulled by huskies. Soak up the beautiful landscapes, and pass an active eagle’s nest. The ride resembles little the cold and sacrifice many mushers experience when out on the trail, but you’ll nonetheless gain an appreciation of what the teams must endure in completing the race.   End your tour by hanging out a little longer with the friendly dogs.
