Description
  • On our Secret Food Tours: Oaxaca, you'll enjoy a variety of traditional local foods.
  • Journey through all facets of Mexican cuisine, from abuelitas recipes, keeping alive traditional recipes, to Tlayudays freshly made by artisans, and the delicious taste of the famous black Mole. Our tour starts next to the popular Mercado 20 de Noviembre for your first bites, where we'll try 2 moles to kick off our culinary adventure.
  • We'll also pass by the other popular market, mercado Juarez, before walking towards the Zocalo, a charming square brimming with history, stunning architecture and culture. Oaxaca old town is the perfect area to experience the colorful atmosphere and discover the vibrant flavors and variety of authentic Mexican cuisine.
  • At the end of your tour, you'll have sampled some of Oaxaca's most delicious dishes, strolled through the cutest streets, and gained a better understanding of our culture and history.
  • Quality drinks will be served at some stops, however if you would like more, a thoughtfully curated Upgraded Drinks Package is available.
  • Due to the nature of creating a well balanced and thoughtful gastronomy experience, many of our tours are unable to accommodate certain dietary restrictions. Please contact us prior to booking your tour to see if we are able to accommodate your dietary needs.
  • - Our food journey begins with two amazing bites at the famous Mercado 20 de Noviembre in Oaxaca: one savory and one sweet.
  • - We'll indulge in a classic Mexican dish renowned for its rich history and unique to this city: our special Mole Negro, to be enjoyed alongside another distinct Mole from Oaxaca.
  • - If you like, we'll let you try your first Chapulines - Mexican fried grasshoppers - to fully understand the meaning of "don't knock it 'til you try it".
  • - Afterwards, we'll stroll through Mercado Juarez, where we'll have another round of delectable bites: a quesillo and a nenguanito.
  • - Cocoa plays a huge role in Oaxaca's culinary scene, so as we walk towards the Zocalo, we'll ensure everyone enjoys our pre-Hispanic drink par excellence, Tejate, accompanied by some sweet Pan de Yema.
  • - We'll explore one of the bustling shopping areas in the historic center, discovering the spots where locals love to spend their time.
  • - Oaxaca is famous for its terraces, so we'll visit one of the most charming ones, a beloved local spot that might just steal your heart.  Here we'll rest, enjoy the view and savor a Tlayuda with meat and a comforting soup with chicharrones.
  • - Each bite promises a delicious journey through the rich culinary traditions of Mexico's food capital!
  • - Plus, don't forget our Secret Dish - it's not to be missed!
