Die Sammlung enthält mehr als eine Million Stücke und umfasst etwa 8.000 Objekte, darunter Gemälde, Skulpturen und historische Artefakte, die von 1200 bis heute reichen. Einige der bemerkenswertesten Kunstwerke, die ausgestellt sind, sind Rembrandts Die Nachtwache (1642), Vermeers Die Milchmagd (1647) und eines von Van Goghs unbenannten Selbstporträts (1887). Das Rijksmuseum führt Sie von Mittelalter bis Mondrian. Neben schönen Kunstwerken gehören zu den Top-Attraktionen im Museum auch ihre Sammlung von Puppenhäusern, Modellschiffen und Waffen. Und die Cuypers-Bibliothek ist die größte und älteste kunsthistorische Bibliothek in den Niederlanden. The collection contains more than one million pieces and has about 8,000 objects including paintings, sculptures, and historical artifacts on display, spanning from the year 1200 to the present. Some of the most notable art works on display include Rembrandt’s The Night Watch (1642), Vermeer’s The Milkmaid (1647), and one of Van Gogh’s untitled self-portraits (1887).
The Rijksmuseum takes you all the way from the Middle Ages to Mondrian. As well as featuring beautiful art work, some of the top attractions in the museum also include their collection of doll’s houses, model ships and armoury. And the Cuypers Library is the largest and oldest art historical library in the Netherlands. Visitors, students and art historians alike are welcome to use the library to delve deeper into the Rijksmuseum collection.
