Short Description
  • To begin your tour, your local friendly guide will meet you outside of Merit Coffee, 222 West Ave #120, Austin, TX 78701, United States.
  •  Starting out, you will walk towards the Willie Nelson statue, passing by the Austin Public Library along the way.
  •  From there, you will begin walking through the Rainey Street Historic District. This increasingly popular tucked-away street is dominated by renovated houses turned into bungalow bars. Day or night, you’ll find relaxed bar-goers strolling from bar to food trailer, often with their dogs in tow looking for a drink and bite to eat.
  • Your guide will then lead you toward the Colorado River, where you will see The Ann W. Richards Congress Avenue Bridge. The bridge is famous for the world’s largest urban bat colony that resides under it. If you happen to be in Austin between March and October, be sure to also book our Scenic Austin Night Tour as you will get to witness the 1.5 million Mexican (or Brazilian) Free-Tailed Bats take flight from underneath the bridge at dusk!
  • Your first stop on this mouthwatering journey kicks off with a true Texas classic—ribs and sausage. Sink your teeth into perfectly smoked, fall-off-the-bone ribs paired with juicy, flavorful sausage that packs just the right amount of spice. This bold and savory combination is sure to ignite your taste buds and set the tone for the delicious barbecue adventure ahead.
  •  Next, make your way through the vibrant Red River Cultural District, a creative hub known for its diverse local music, art, and food scene. As you soak in the lively atmosphere, you’ll arrive at your next stop for a plate of expertly smoked brisket. Slow-cooked to perfection, this melt-in-your-mouth barbecue staple features a beautifully caramelized bark and just the right balance of smoky richness and tenderness.
  •  Finally, no Texas barbecue experience is complete without something sweet. End your tour on a high note with a delectable dessert, the perfect way to round out an unforgettable culinary journey. Whether it’s a classic Southern treat or a local favorite, this final bite will leave you satisfied and smiling.
