Description
Join us on tour for a Pinnacles Day Tour exploring some of the West Coast’s most stunning natural regions. Enjoy a star-studded adventure of twinkling twilight and wildlife in the native wonderland of the Pinnacles.
Leave behind city life for a one-day treat to some of Western Australia’s best natural wonders.
After 1.15 hours from Perth, we stop to stretch our legs and take in the views from Guilderton lookout, replacing the Lancelin stop due to its temporary closure. This stunning viewpoint offers panoramic views of the vast sand dunes, which are part of the largest network of sand dunes in Western Australia. The gigantic, snow-white dunes create a striking contrast against the glistening turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean in the distance. The lookout is accessed by 83 steps (15 more than Lancelin) and takes approximately 7 minutes to walk up. With toilets and a cafe available at the carpark, this stop will not affect the overall length of the tour, as the timing remains the same.
Shake the sand out of your shoes, before we travel on to the Nilgen Nature Reserve. In a region abundant with flora and fauna, we’ll wander through a kaleidoscopic of wildflowers, including the likes of banksias, bottlebrush, heath, grass trees, and kangaroo paws; all bursting with life, when in season. If the flowers are in hiding, we’ll instead head over to Hangover Bay, where you can dip your toes in the crystal-clear waters or spot the likes of bottlenose dolphins and sea lions.
With our lungs full of fresh sea air, it’s time to journey on to the Nambung National Park to witness the remarkable Pinnacles desert at sunset. Made up of shells, the Pinnacles date back millions of years to a time when the land was beneath the sea. Best explored at dusk when the crowds evaporate and the thousands of limestone pillars rise eerily out of the desert; watch the colours change over the rocks, creating a lunar-like atmosphere.
Enjoy a picnic dinner accompanied by a glass of local sparkling (all included), while we settle in for a spectacular light show of natural wonder, beneath the sky. As the darkness sets, it’s time to marvel at the other-worldly beauty of the stars and planets, swirling high above. Listen to the ancient stories of the Aboriginal Dreamtime and gaze light-years away.Meals: Dinner.Driving distance: 420km.Walking distance: ~1km / 2km.
*A moderate level of fitness is required to complete the walks. This tour departs throughout the year at different times to maximize the sunset experience and as such the itinerary stops may change slightly.

1 Day Pinnacles Sunset & Wildlife Experience:
Join us on tour for a day exploring some of the West Coast’s most stunning natural regions. Located only a short drive from Perth, we’ll take you into Yanchep National Park first. Wander the beautiful grounds here in search of wild kangaroos, enjoy a coffee at the Chocolate Drop tea rooms overlooking the gardens or stroll the boardwalk to view koalas. Keep your eyes out for wildflowers during the spring! There is also time to join a guided tour of Crystal Cave (own expense).
We then head up the coast to Hangover Bay, a beautiful beach known for its wildlife. As you wander the white sands, keep an eye out for bottle nose dolphins and Australian sea lions which can often be spotted here. There may even be time for a swim!
Then end your day with a visit to the amazing Pinnacles Desert in Nambung National Park where we enjoy a delicious picnic dinner. Walk through the wondrous limestone formations and watch as the colours change during the golden last hours of daylight. Explore the unique stacks as they glow just before the sunsets over the beautiful Indian Ocean. We then make our way back to Perth, arriving in the late evening.
Visit Yanchep National Park
Yanchep National Park spreads over 2,800 hectares of natural bushland and is known for its caves, kangaroos, and koala population. The beautiful parklands will be our first stop for the day where guests will have the option to join a 45 minute guided tour of Crystal Cave, a stunning limestone cavern with stalactites and stalagmites following an underground crystal clear stream. Alternatively, join us on a stroll along the Koala boardwalk and parklands with wild Kangaroos and many beautiful photo opportunities.
Visit at a gourmet chocolate shop
Visit Chocolate Drops café, a specialty handmade chocolate shop with an array of ‘Australian’ themed handmade chocolate. Free time included to purchase lunch or a coffee (own expense) in the tea rooms or outdoors amongst the gum trees and kangaroos.
Picnic dinner in the Pinnacles Desert
Enjoy a guided walking tour through the Pinnacles Desert in the late afternoon sun before joining the group for a sumptuous picnic dinner surrounded by mystical rock formations. There are hundreds of limestone stacks spread over 190 hectares and the long shadows and orange light of the golden hours before sunset provide stunning photo opportunities. Watch the sun sink over the desert sands to finish off this perfect day.
