- FOR DOWNTOWN CRUISE SHIP PASSENGERS & OTHER GUESTS: *(Cruisers Docking at Ward Cove see next paragraph!)
- After disembarking your cruise ship, please proceed to the shelter at Cruise Berth 3. The green roof shelter is on the dock next to the "Visitors Information - Restrooms" building and Sockeye Sam's Store.
- (NOTE: this is not the berth 2 Visitors Center).
- The map and photos attached make this easy to find. The walk is approximately 2-5 minutes depending on which pier you are docked. Our guide will be present 10 minutes before each hour holding a BLUE sign that says "ORCA COVE." You will not find us there any earlier.
- FOR CRUISE SHIP PASSENGERS ARRIVING AT THE MILL AT WARD COVE:
- ***This excursion DOES NOT provide transportation to and from the new dock in Ward Cove.
- You will need to take the shuttle buses provided to/from downtown Ketchikan.
- The shuttle will drop you off at cruise berth 4 and it’s about a 5 minute walk along the dock to meet us at berth 3. (See above instructions for berth meeting details).
- After disembarking your cruise ship, please proceed to the brick building "The Mill at Ward Cove." Proceed through the building to the right. You will need to go outside the building to find the shuttle buses to take you downtown.
- Norwegian Cruise lines almost exclusively dock at Ward Cove. Guests from the Encore and the Bliss have had no issues taking our tour at 0800 or 0900 downtown using the shuttle buses from Ward Cove. Other ships/cruise lines may have longer port calls and more options for departures.
- If you need assistance or are unsure about your Ketchikan itinerary please call or text Orca Cove Alaska Outdoor Adventures at 907-225-1258.
- *Remember to turn off airplane mode when you pull into port to aid in communication should there be any delays or should any issues arise the day of your excursion. Some wireless users may need to enable roaming on their phone, but US wireless users should not receive roaming charges in Ketchikan.
- WANT TO SPEND THE DAY WITH US & SAVE?!

- To inquire about pairing any of our other Ketchikan Kayak Co Favorites and saving 20% off of Kayaking or E-bike tours please reply to this confirmation email or text 907-225-1258 to see if this option works great for your itinerary.
- **What to prepare for:**
- For this kayak excursion we will step down from our catamaran into an inflatable boat, sit down on the side of the boat and slide into the cockpits of the sit inside sea kayaks. You won't need to put your feet in the water. The best footwear to bring with you to Southeast Alaska are hiking boots or trail running shoes. Footwear that is waterproof or quick dry is optimal. Some summers are very sunny in Ketchikan, some are very rainy, but it is statistically calmer waters and dryer weather where we go kayaking than it is downtown Ketchikan. It may sound counter intuitive, but paddling a kayak with your feet inside means that the kayaking could potentially be the driest part of the day for your feet. We are operating this excursion remotely and we only have so much space aboard the boat for storing, cleaning and drying equipment, we provide dry Seat Pads, Waterproof Jackets, Pogies to keep your hands warm and we also have dry bags for your phones, cameras, extra layers etc...
- We highly recommend you bring rain pants on your Cruise to Southeast Alaska and bring them on this excursion. Please wear quick dry clothing not blue jeans. Whether it's rainy or sunny you will almost always end up with a damp bottom, no way around it.
- We recommend bringing layers anytime you leave your ship in Alaska. The Tongass National Forest is the second largest rainforest in the world.
- You cannot paddle barefoot. In the unlikely event that you needed to get out of your kayak on shore during the excursion, the jagged, rocky shoreline is teeming with life and much of it is feasting on the sharp barnacles and mussels in the intertidal zone. You would not want to have to navigate that setting barefoot.
- **Guided Tour Details:**
- -You must sign a liability release waiver before taking a tour.
- - Any one with a seated waistline, hips or thighs of more than 52" will not be a good fit for the kayak cockpits.
- Return Time to downtown Ketchikan: 3 hours after departure time.
- If you have any changes, questions, or concerns please call us at 907-225-1258 asap.
- Thank you for choosing an adventure with us! We know you’ll love it out here.

- Short Description
- Alaska is a place to get away from it all &enjoy the serenity of the wilderness. This 3 hr excursion is a kayak & boating adventure that escapes the crowds in Ketchikan. Orca Cove is a 20 minute fast boat ride away from downtown Ketchikan & the entire experience is on the water. It’s the perfect experience for an adventure while giving you time to see Ketchikan during shorter port calls.
- Spending the entire three hours on the water provides excellent chances to spot marine wildlife throughout the entire excursion. We often do see whales, sea lions, seals, bald eagles or even bears and deer along the coast. The immense array of inter tidal creatures are certainly a Southeast Alaskan favorite!
- The true highlight of the Orcas Cove tour is exploring the secluded coves & rainforest islands by sea kayak with friendly, knowledgeable guides, although the local smoked salmon, hot drinks or cold Alaskan beers onboard the mothership after paddling are ranked a close second by many of our guests.
