The Gokyo-Everest Base Camp Trek combines the best of the Khumbu region of eastern Nepal for the most spectacular alpine trek in the world. Beginning in the mystical Kathmandu Valley with its ancient cities, you fly to Lukla to begin your trek. There are high mountain passes that you’ll cross while descending into incredible well-watered green valleys fed by the glaciers high above. You will see the Himalayas from different viewpoints and reach the Gokyo Lakes, a glacier lake.

You will explore more regions than traditional EBC trek. It takes the same number of days, yet costs slightly the same as the classical EBC trek. Always ask your physician to make sure you can handle this strenuous trek in the Himalayas.
Temperatures are warm and pleasant in the city and cold in the mountains.
You can get Nepal’s Visa on arrival in airport or other entry point of Nepal.
Get Travel insurance and make sure your passport does not expire within 6 months

Before you go

Bring warm clothes that can be layered and sunglasses to adjust as temperatures vary.
Trekking boots and lightweight poncho or raincoat is recommended.
Take plenty of batteries and Nepalese currency for your personal use.
