Duoro Valley Tour and Wine Tasting
Tour was good. Our guide Johnny was great! He was knowledgeable and funny. The wine tastings were good. We like that we had a minivan with only 8 people. The lunch was tasty and plentiful. We basically had the restaurant to ourselves. It’s a long day but worth the trip.
Good experience excellent driver/guide
Experience was great with Ricky our driver. He was fantastic and gave us good pointers. Our group blended very well. Although first time meeting. The first winery was good. Did not like the wines but service was great. The second winery was great wine more experienced guide and great port. Only thing no water or clean glasses between tasting. Lunch was ok. Pork was chewy. Roce was nice but no vegetables. River tour was a bit boring but soothing.

Luis was the greatest tour guide - my partner and I had such a blast all day. He was so informative, genuine, and fun to be around! We loved both wineries & the boat cruise - definitely recommend this.
The best of Porto!!
We absolutely loved our trip to Douro Valley. Our first stop in Amarante was more enjoyable than expected. The church was beautiful and the stories our guide Andreia told were fun and educational. You must try the pastry to start off your day. All the wine and port we tasted were of exceptional quality and lunch was beautiful as well. We especially enjoyed the river cruise with more delicious wine that added to the whole experience. This trip was a perfect combination of site seeing (the most gorgeous views of the valley throughout the tour) the and good wine/port.
A tour not to miss if you like wine
This tour was so much fun and worth the cost and the time. Our guide, Jimmy (Joao) was fantastic and so much fun. We met some really interesting fellow travelers, saw beautiful spots in the Douro Valley and of course, tasted lovely wine. We are veteran wine country visitors as former Bay Area and now Oregon residents and the wines and craft in Portugal is spectacular. We learned a lot about how Port wine is produced and tasted wonderful wines. The tour company selected 2 smaller family owned wineries and a very traditional restaurant for lunch. Even though Portugal is still crowded with tourists even in mid September, it felt intimate and special. The river cruise was relaxing and a nice break from driving. Highly recommend.
