Douro Valley Wine Tour with Lunch & River Cruise

We had a great trip with Sandro to the Douro Valley. The wineries were carefully chosen small producers which we greatly appreciated. Sandro’s passion & enthusiasm for the area and his guests was apparent from the outset. The traditional lunch at a local restaurant was generous and very tasty. The river cruise on the Douro was so relaxing and the scenery just stunning. We highly recommend this trip both in terms of the experience and value for money.

Tour was great. Luis was the best guide we have had so far. He was fun and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this trip and request Luis.

Pedro (our guide) and Joao (our driver) were fantastic!! The tour was lovely and Pedro's comentary was both interesting and entertaining. They were able to adjust the timing to accommodate our schedule, which was very much appreciated.

Absolutely fantastic – a must-do in Porto! From start to finish, this was an absolutely fantastic experience and a must for anyone visiting Porto, regardless of how short your stay. It was also exceptional value for money, with so much included in one unforgettable day. Miguel, our driver, and Pedro, our guide, were enthusiastic, entertaining and incredibly informative. They made the whole day feel relaxed, fun and personal. Our first stop was a wonderful co-operative winery, where João gave us a fascinating and informative tour, delivered with plenty of humour. It was a great introduction to the Douro Valley and its wine-making traditions. Lunch at the traditional family-run restaurant was another highlight – delicious food, wonderful hospitality and, incredibly, unlimited food and wine! Next came the boat trip down the Douro River, which was simply spectacular. The scenery was breathtaking, with vineyards stretching up the hillsides and their names beautifully displayed among the vines. And, of course, there were another three wines to taste along the way! Our second winery was dedicated to Port tasting, and once again the experience was both informative and enjoyable. The Ports we tasted were sensational. And then came the journey back to Porto – which turned into a travelling disco! Pedro asked everyone for their favourite songs and created a brilliant playlist for the journey home. It was the perfect ending to a fantastic day. Truly one of the best tours we’ve ever done – and we’ve done a lot over the years! Exceptional value for money and highly recommended.
