Why take this tour?

You will start the day by going to a Peruvian family-run farm that also acts as an organic demonstration farm and speciality school for Peruvian farmers (campesinos). Connect with local Peruvians that you wouldn’t otherwise with the help of a translator from the AASD staff. This experience will have you learning about development, traditional knowledge, and organic agriculture. You also will have a chance to get your hands dirty by helping out on the farm depending on the needs of the season. A traditional Peruvian lunch will be made from fresh produce from the Ecohuella farm with an accommodation for dietary restrictions. After lunch, you will visit ruins in Urco where you will learn about the history and legend of the site. Next, you will go to the Youth Association of Urco where they specialize in making silver jewelry. You will make a personalized silver ring to take home. You also will be able to make additional purchases at Echouella or the Youth Association to support them.
