Also, consider a short cruise (at your expense) to see the thousands of seals that inhabit the aptly named Duiker Island (Seal Island).

Cape Point, of course, is the popular local nature reserve and one of the most famous landmarks in Cape Town. Located at the very tip of the peninsula, with the Indian Ocean on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other, the region is highlighted by rugged cliffs, lush fynbos, and vast open spaces.

Elsewhere, there’s Simon’s Town, home to the South African Navy, as well as Boulder's Penguin Colony, an inlet featuring a protected colony of African penguins (admission at your expense).
