Begin your tour with pickup from your Cape Town hotel prior to an 8 a.m. tour start time. Ride past vineyards and rural scenery along the Stellenbosch Wine Route to the Zevenwacht Wine Estate, located roughly 20 minutes outside of Cape Town.
Upon reaching the small but vibrant town of Stellenbosch, enjoy your first tasting at a wine cellar. This region is known for growing a wide variety of grapes, including chenin blanc, pinotage, shiraz, and méthode cap classique for sparkling wine.
Then, continue to the old Huguenot village of Franschhoek. Partake in the town’s artisanal culinary tradition with a wine, cheese, and biltong tasting at Marianne Wine Estate while admiring views of the countryside.
Head to your final tasting in Paarl, passing Drakenstein Prison where Nelson Mandela carried out a portion of his sentence for campaigning against apartheid along the way. Tour the town to learn more about Afrikaner culture and see a monument dedicated to the Huguenots before tasting wine at Laborie Wine Farms.
Return to your hotel in Cape Town at the end of your trip.
