The museum was founded in 1855 and has grown to include more than 10,000 items ranging from the prehistoric era through the age of Copta. Walk through the museum's nine rooms and two warehouses to take in the displays in the renovated space.
See the beautifully-preserved Chimera of Arezzo, an Etruscan bronze lion discovered in 1553 in the city of Arezzo. This piece is part of the museum's nice Etruscan collection. Visit the Greek, Roman, and Egyptian collections to see vases, sculptures, ceramics, bronzes, sarcophagi, amulets, and more.
