Heading out from your Reykjavík accommodation to Silfra takes 45 minutes. Once you have greeted your certified guide he or she will run through how the day will go and what to expect from the tour. Upon arriving at Silfra, you will don your gear listen in to a safety briefing and head to the glacially flooded fissure known as Silfra.
The fissure is ever changing and grows wider as the tectonic plates move 2cm further apart each year. The approximate time in the water is around 30-40 minutes, and you'll finish the tour by warming up with a well earned hot chocolate.
We will take photos of you and do not charge extra commission. Normally included are 40-100 photos, this varies on group size and the skill level of the group. They are downloadable after a few days.
With the wetsuit option you'll just need to wear your swim suit underneath it. Our guides highly recommended that you bring thick socks (preferably wool) as this will help to keep your feet cozy and warm while snorkeling!
We are the only company to offer wetsuit and drysuit. This means members of your group can book different options and still be able to stay together in the water.
