Journey to the sealed prison of Alcatraz with exclusive evening access. When most other visitors have gone home, you and your small group have the island to explore! This experience is paired with an in-depth exploration of nearby Fisherman’s Wharf with a visit to Boudin Bakery, where San Francisco sourdough bread was invented and perfected.
Begin your experience near Ghirardelli Square. Depart the former factory for a “behind the scenes” view over Aquatic Park and glance at the island of Alcatraz from this vantage point. Weave your way to the heart of Fisherman’s Wharf as your guide prepares you for your evening spent at the notorious prison.
At Fisherman's Wharf, you'll stop at the famed Boudin Bakery for a crash course in San Francisco's beloved sourdough bread. Then use a less-beaten path through Pier 39 to get up close and personal with San Francisco's sea lions! After a little time spent in their smelly company, head towards Alcatraz Landing to depart for your ferry to the island.
Finally, you'll board the boat to the “Inescapable Island,” enjoying the wildly popular attraction with a small group of just eight guests maximum as tickets are extremely limited and highly sought after. Enjoy a short introductory tour with a Park Ranger as you walk to the cellhouse where you'll collect your audio guide. As you wander the island, you'll hear stories from former inmates, correctional officers, and even the children that once called Alcatraz Island home! Finally, as the sun begins to set, you'll board the ferry back to the City by the Bay.
