Drive towards the centre of the island to start you day with the visit of the Mauritius Glass Gallery, a Glass Foundry situated in Phoenix, where skilled craftsmen challenge the limits of their imagination and creativity! The exquisite variety of homewares made of 100% recycled glass are to-die-for! When you get at the glass gallery, the first thing you see when you get in is the hands museum. The ‘hands’ are organized by categories: writers, sportsperson and tv personalities. After the museum, there is a short corridor with distorting mirrors where you can have a bit of fun there and spend some time seeing yourself short, tall, fat and distorted in other ways. Then you get to the heart of the glass making workshop and see them handling and blowing glass. You can have your own hand print or footprint sculpted in glass in any way you want it; for instance, you can choose to immortalize you and your partner’s hands in a heart-shaped glass, or make a family hand-frame with your children and have the date or names engraved.
