Board your air-conditioned vehicle in central Beirut or at your Beirut hotel, and listen to tales of Lebanese culture and history as you cruise through the pretty countryside.
Your first stop is the Qadisha (“Holy”) Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the pretty town of Bsharri. Stroll the ancient town with your guide as you learn about the 20th-century poet and artist Khalil Gibran, who was born here. See religious monuments and the Gibran Museum, then stop for a traditional lunch of “mezze” (small dishes served tapas-style).
Continue through the valley to Kozhaya, and explore the mountainside Monastery of St. Anthony. No trip to Qadisha Valley would be complete without viewing the biblical cedars of Lebanon. Learn about these majestic trees as you explore a cedar grove before your driver returns you to Beirut.
