Experience the Best Wines of the Colmar Wine Region
At first sight, the Alsace Wine Route offers a true picture-postcard image; fresh vines climbing to the forests of the Vosges, ruins of castles dating back to the Middle Ages, villages with old ramparts that only protect the happiness of the flowered lanes, hospitable wine stubs, and lively cellars. But, it also pictures ancient abodes, Romanesque churches or fountains generously left by the Renaissance.
Renowned for its aromatic white wines, this region of France is ideally suited with a dry and sunny climate, complex geology, favorable soils and excellent exposure. During this half day tour you will wine taste in 2 wineries so as to find out all there is to know about the 7 different types of Alsace wines.
On this small group half day wine tour departing Colmar, we will first pick you up in a centrally located meeting point. This half day Alsace wine trip begins with a drive along the mythical alsatian wine route. During this small group tour you will cross / visit villages of the Alsace region recommended by your tour guide such as Eguisheim, Pfaffenheim, Rouffach or Turckheim that are considered to be some of the most beautiful of the alsace region.
This is where we will stop so that you may experience tastings of a large range of wines produced in Alsace including Grands Cru. Wine Tastings in local wine cellars include Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, Rieslings, Sylvaner and many more. During the day tour, all tastings are commented by someone of the family or by the cellar master. This insures you get the best explanations on the expertise and know how that has been transmitted through centuries of wine-making.
