I rented a bike for the Santa Cruz 70.3 so I’m not sure which location the bike came from but I would recommend renting a bike from anywhere else. First off, the rental is extremely expensive ($450) for a bike that the tech told me was a couple years old at least and retails new at $2500. Already not a great deal but it was my first 70.3 so I wasn’t sure but I would expect a newer bike for that rental price tag. When checking out my bike the day before the race turns out there is no second water bottle holder and the bolts are stripped so there is nothing they could do to help. This was frustrating because I had called ahead to double check and they assured me I would have two water bottle holders. The handles were to starting to fall apart and the gears clicked the entire 50 mile bike ride. For the price of the rental, I’m extremely disappointed. It seemed like nobody took a look at the bike and made sure it was in good condition before bringing it out to the race venue and they couldn’t switch it out since they only had that one for my size. For the price, the service isn’t great and the quality definitely isn’t there. Learn from my mistake and just go elsewhere.
