We toured Château de Haut-Kœnigsbourg with our guide Thierry. He was extremely knowledgeable and very entertaining! He had worked at the castle for a decade prior to joining Ophorus Tours. He seemed to know just about everyone and everything involving this amazing timeless structure. His vast knowledge about the smallest of details really punctuated the tour and made it much more enjoyable.

We had a lovely trip out to the Lavender Fields with Alex. His enthusiasm was infectious and we learnt so much about the history of the area and the Lavender growing process, whilst also enjoying chatting to other visitors on the tour. It was a last minute change of plans for us due to me suffering an ankle injury a couple of days earlier, but Alex was brilliant with making sure I was comfortable throughout the journey and helped make sure I was able to access all parts of the tour. I am so pleased we got to enjoy this tour and I would absolutely recommend it.

Terrible experience

Terrible. We paid for 4 of 6 people. I arrived at 2 pm to wrong place 10 minutes away. Communication was terrible. I immediately let them know where we were. They left at 230 but could t drive 10 minutes to pick us up. My friends did make it and said it was nothing more than a long drive to 2 average winery’s. It is way better to just drive to beaune and go visit better winery’s where they at least feed you. At dinner we did a wine pairing and after each glass they said it was way better than anything they tasted. We asked if they could at least put us on another tour another day and they said they could only offer a 15% discount. I would not recommend this tour.

Ines was our guide for the day. She ́s very Nice. She made our day smooth and lovely. The tour itself was exactly what I was looking for. I had a lovely day and I recommend it.

Our trip guide (Manon?) was quite knowledgeable and was able to answer our group's pestering questions while keeping our half-day trip on schedule. I also appreciated the air conditioned travel van we used for travel. As for the day trip activities, the two sites our group visited were quite lovely and contrasted nicely with each other. I would recommend the Alsace vineyard tour for anyone wanting to drink some hard-to-get local wines and see the towns around Strasbourg.

If you are considering this tour, don't hesitate to book it. Matt was an outstanding, knowledgeable guide. His passion for history made the tour come alive. The half-day tour was well-paced, active and packed with information. We left with an even deeper gratitude for those who fought for freedom. We wholeheartedly recommend this tour with Matt. Truly one of the best experiences for us in France.

Half Day Tour St. Emilion

Our tour was absolutely great, largely thanks to our super guide, Anne, who was incredibly chatty, friendly, and exceptionally knowledgeable. However, the experience left us wishing for more time, as the four-hour duration felt rather rushed to fit everything in. While spending an entire day in St. Emilion would probably be too much, four hours is simply not enough time to comfortably experience two wine tastings, walk around the beautiful village, and actually sit down to relax. A six-hour tour would truly be the perfect sweet spot for this itinerary. If you don't have much time and want an AC van with a small group this is the tour for you.

Fantastic tour with Carlos

Beautiful villages and fantastic castle! Carlos knows Alsace inside and out. He is so passionate about the architecture and history. One of the best tourguides I’ve ever had.
