Tour guide was amazing: he was passionate and knew so much about wine and history- my head was spinning in a good way after the tour having absorbed so much info! The winery experience was nice, and perfect amount of time spent in St emilion, didn’t need more. Great excursion!

Fun wine tasting experience

This was an adorable wine tasting. The two wineries were excellent and you were able to learn about the region and wines. The tour guide was friendly and personable. Highly recommend and would attend this again. However, this is really only wine tastings. Do not expect much sight seeing beyond the wineries. I went with my older parents and sister. This is not a family trip. My dad didn’t want to be left out but he does not drink. One place had fancy grape juice to try but this was not the tour for him.

Deze tour was een enorme teleurstelling en voldeed totaal niet aan de beschrijving. Ik had dit met twee vriendinnen geboekt omdat ik wijn heb gestudeerd en hen graag meer wilde leren over de wijnen uit de Elzas. De eerste stop was bij een particulier met een rommelige tuin, waar we vier wijnen proefden zonder enige uitleg over de wijnen of het wijnhuis. Daarnaast werd beloofd dat we iets van Obernai zouden zien, maar dat is niet gebeurd. Bij de tweede stop kregen we een rondleiding van nog geen vijf minuten van een gids die nauwelijks te verstaan was. De proeverij verliep ontzettend gehaast; nog voordat we een wijn konden beoordelen, werd de volgende al ingeschonken. Ook de beloofde "caveau" was nergens te bekennen. Voor een tour van vier uur à €130 per persoon mocht je toch meer kwaliteit verwachten, inclusief op zijn minst een klein hapje. Wij verzoeken daarom om een volledige terugbetaling.

Francesco is an awesome tour guide. He was so knowledgable, passionate, and friendly and he gave us a truly unforgettable experience. This is a really great way to try excellent wines from smaller family producers, and the itinerary allowed us to try a huge range of different styles and varieties. I would highly recommend a tour with Francesco and Ophorus to anyone visiting Alsace.

My husband and I did the Chinon wine-tasting tour from Tours. I must compliment their customer service staff. I had concerns about getting to the meeting place from where we were staying. I wrote to them, and they got back promptly with options for my trip. They were really responsive. As for the tour, the first winery was great, and just what we hoped for. We took a look at the vineyard and sat in the rustic tasting room with one of the principals of the winery and tasted over 10 delicious wines. We then went to the town of Chinon for lunch. We didn't have time to tour the castle, but at least we could see it, and get a feel for the charming town. Unfortunately, the second tasting was more perfunctory, and what you often get in California these days. A formal wine room with multiple tastes, but without the passion of the first visit. But overall I would recommend the tour since you get to see Chinon and the surrounding area and get a good feel for the wines.

Our tour guide Laetitia was extremely knowledgeable about wine in France and internationally. Her English is perfect. She worked in New Zealand and travelled widely in wine areas. She was very personable and considerate. She ensured the van was very comfortable for the group of five persons. At her recommendation. We had an excellent lunch in St Emilon. We enjoyed three different wineries - From a small family growers to a larger vineyard and winery where we were able to meet with the Owners. All the winery people were extremely welcoming sharing their knowledge and the history of their wine. Our group of three Australians would highly recommend this tour to friends and family We would also be happy to tour with the Ophorus again based on their good communication and tour experience.

Wonderful 1/2 day excursion

This excursion was wonderful. We were treated by a very friendly guide named Lea. Vehicle was very clean, comfortable and air conditioned. The vineyards were very nice and knowledgeable. Lea’s knowledge about wine and the region was excellent. It was a great afternoon with a small group of people.
