Ema was such a friendly and knowledgeable guide, we went to some real hidden gems in shimbashi so the tour really did live up to its name. Even though the weather was horrid and the other guests cancelled Ema still guided me around shimbashi, catering the tour to my dietary requirements and we had a blast. I especially enjoyed the very special ramen and sake tasting 10/10! Thank you so much!

We had an amazing matcha tour in Uji with Laiana - it was one of the highlights of my trip. Our guide was warm, knowledgeable, and brought local history to life. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch, delicious matcha sweets and ice cream, and visited beautiful temples, museum and a peaceful shrine. A perfect blend of culture, learning, and incredible flavors — highly recommend!

Wonderful food and neighborhood tour.

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful day with our tour guide Ully. It was a joy to spend the day with her talking about not only Japan and its food and culture, but also about family and life in general. She is quite young chronologically but an “old soul” in terms of spirit and insight. Her knowledge of the local food and culture of the region was impressive and gave us a much better understanding and appreciation for the food of the region and how history helped to shape it. Thank you, Ully, for making us feel like we were old friends and family that you were taking on a private food tour!

Kawaii Tour Harajuku

Mein Mann und ich haben eine Food Tour in Harajuku, Tokio, gemacht. Unsere Guide Serena machte die Erfahrung für uns beide unvergesslich. Die Tour führte uns durch die Straßen von Harajuku, wobei wir nicht nur kulinarische Highlights, sondern auch historische und modische Hintergründe erklärt bekamen. Wir konnten zahlreiche lokale Spezialitäten probieren insgesamt fünf verschiedene Orte standen auf unserem Programm. Besonders gut gefiel mir, dass wir auch süße Leckereien testen konnten. Jeder Halt war ein kleines Highlight und zeigte uns die Vielfalt der japanischen Küche auf eine ganz besondere Weise. Insgesamt war die Food Tour eine perfekte Mischung aus Genuss, Kultur und Entdeckungen. Ich würde diese Tour jederzeit wieder machen.

Fabulous Evening Food Tour!

We were a group of 8 and were lucky enough to have the wonderful Alex as our guide. We were taken to six different restaurants - many we would never have found without doing this tour. Each restaurant served a different Japanese dish and again there were dishes we would not have tried if not on the tour. If you wish to experience local Japanese food and hear the history of the dishes and the Shibuya area this tour will fulfil. Thank you Alex, you were great fun and we loved it!

We had an excellent food tour of the Tsukiji Market with Glende. She shared fascinating insights into the market’s history and guided us through a variety of vendors. The seafood was unbelievably fresh—the best we’ve ever seen. We sampled oysters, sashimi with freshly grated wasabi, and many local and seasonal specialties. Glende’s knowledge and enthusiasm made the experience even better. Highly recommended for anyone who loves seafood and wants an authentic taste of Japanese culture. Highly recommend!

We had a really wonderful time on our Kyoto casual evening Pontocho food tour. The food at our various stops was amazing, and we also enjoyed the sake and our stops at small shops for green tea and spices and sweets. Noboru was a fabulous guide full of interesting information to share about Japanese food, culture and practices. As one of us is in a wheelchair, Noburu had also taken extra care to ensure that all the places we visited on the tour were accessible.

Best tasting tour ever!

We had a great tour tasting sake, whiskey and cocktails, along with very delicious food to go with it. Our guides Sebastian and Ron were the best!

We did two food tours with Arigato during our recent trip—one in Tokyo with the incredibly entertaining Daniel, and another in old-town Osaka with the wonderful Natsumi. Both were fantastic experiences! The Tokyo tour included sushi so good it literally brought a tear to my eye, and the Osaka tour was a total blast from start to finish. Highly recommend Arigato and their amazing guides!

Laiana was an amazing guide. We truly got to experience Uji in a way that we wouldn't have been able to do on our own. The food was excellent and her ability to converse on a wide range of topics made it feel like you were walking with a friend not a guide. Definitely worth it!

Arigato did a wonderful job accommodating our family of 4. We did multiple tours in Tokyo, Hakone and Kyoto and each tour guide seemed to be better than the last. They were easy to work with, flexible to what we wanted to do/see, and knew all of the hot spots and best restaurants. Thanks to Anne and her team for a wonderful experience, our first trip to Japan - hopefully not our last!
