After pickup at your Port of Spain hotel, board the comfortable vehicle and head for the Asa Wright Nature Centre, located deep in the hills of the island's Northern Range. During the drive, watch the scenic landscape pass by the windows.
Upon arrival at the Nature Centre, meet your nature guide and set out to explore on foot. This 200-acre (81-hectare) property is a fantastic example of Trinidad's ecological diversity, unparalleled elsewhere in the Caribbean. Your guide will provide informative and engaging commentary as you trek through the forest, viewing colorful, tropical flowers and exotic trees in their natural habitat.
The Asa Wright Nature Centre is a protected bird sanctuary and is home to many rare species. Keep your eyes out for birds like hummingbirds, manikins, toucans, and the tufted coquette. You may also see some graceful, colorful butterflies alighting in the forest.
At the conclusion of your eco-tour, climb back aboard your tour vehicle and return to your Port of Spain hotel for drop-off.
