Awesome tour. The guide...
Awesome tour. The guide stayed with us to Gallway and made sure we got picked for drive to airport. Driver picked us up and got us to tour on the island. On return our driver was waiting for to get back to train. We had our 12 yr old grandson and he loved this tour. Highly recommend.

This makes for a long day if you’re going back to Dublin but it is well worth it, especially if you have good weather! Lots of moving pieces but Railway Ireland make it easy. Both hosts were very nice and they give you a packet at check in to help with questions. The whole day was expertly timed out. The plane ride is an 8 minute adventure in and of itself. The island of Inis Mor is drop dead gorgeous. I do recommend bringing some snacks as we ate right before getting on the train at 7am and then didn’t get to eat again until 2pm! Also recommend wearing good shoes as you have the option to hike up to the Fort of Aonghus for some amazing views of the cliffs and the ocean. BONUS - our tour guide on the island, Ciaran (an Inis Mor native), was so nice and knowledgeable. If someone can let Ciaran know we did make it to the Dublin/Donegal GAA match per his suggestion and it was SO much fun!! We also had over two hours to explore Galway. Highly recommend!!
An unforgettable experience with my guide John!
If you’re staying in Dublin and looking to make a visit to the Aran Islands and Galway without the hassle of driving yourself, this is an excellent option. I had the pleasure of spending time with my guide, John Todd, who was incredibly kind and knowledgeable. His company really added to the experience! I’m subtracting a star because I feel like I would have benefited from his company the whole time (which is what I had expected). Instead, the tour drops you off with the plane company in Galway following the train ride, and then you join a bus tour when you land on the main island. Having John with me would have made that experience way more memorable. Thankfully he was there to give me a proper Galway tour after my visit to the Aran Islands! Overall, I would recommend this excursion.

Although the trip was generally well run and efficient, the connection on the island with the local guide for the island tour left much to be desired. We were given poor connection information and and it took an hour to find the guide. That was a terrible waste of our time.

My sweetheart and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour, from meeting John McDonald at the Heuston Train Station, to the plane ride over to Inis Mor, there and back again to Dublin was a delightful experience! John is truly a gift to the travelers who are guided by him. His laughter and commentary are insightful as well as delightful! His shared knowledge of our itinerary, and the tidbits he revealed along our journey, made the trip even more memorable. We HIGHLY recommend! BTW...Steve surprised me while we were strolling the gardens of Blarney Castle two days after this tour. He proposed! I do believe we will be returning to your lovely country sooner rather than later.
