Why take this tour?

MUST SEE!  Orkhon waterfall (also, called Ulaan Tsutgalan Waterfall) is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Central Mongolia. The height of the waterfall is about 20m (65 feet).  The waterfall is located in a beautiful Orkhon river valley with volcanic rocks which listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites for its historical value related to Great Mongolian Empire. There is opportunity to experience their way of life, their culture and traditions. The area is ideal for fishing, horse riding, cycling and photography. Orkhon Valley has dominated the country as a center of nomadic culture – illustrating even today how nomads respect nature and live in harmony with it. The valley is an outstanding example of various significant stages of development in human history, from trading posts to capital. The World Heritage Site includes a core zone on both banks of the River Orkhon and a buffer zone of over 14,000ha.

About operator:

If you don't have time for a multi-day tour to the Gobi desert, try this one day "Semi-Gobi" experience instead. Instead of flying to the desert, take a short drive to Elsen Tasarkhai, a semi-desert region with mountains in the distance. After lunch, take a hike or take a horse or camel ride to the sand dunes. You'll also make a short visit to a local nomadic family to learn about their culture and traditions before heading back to Ulaanbaatar.
