If you don't have time for a multi-day tour to the Gobi desert, try this one day "Semi-Gobi" experience instead. Instead of flying to the desert, take a short drive to Elsen Tasarkhai, a semi-desert region with mountains in the distance. After lunch, take a hike or take a horse or camel ride to the sand dunes.
